Broadview Stage at SPAC History
Saratoga Performing Arts Center opened in 1996 with a production of George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the New York City Ballet. As the official summer home of the prestigious dance company, as well as the Philadelphia Orchestra, SPAC has been offering world-class cultural entertainment for nearly three decades.
Broadview Stage in particular has seen many memorable moments in its history, with The Grateful Dead playing the venue’s largest-ever show in 1985 with a record 40,231 fans in attendance. Phish and Dave Matthews Band also play the amphitheater regularly, with the latter having sold out the venue eleven times. Broadview Stage hosted Farm Aid in 2013, with Dave Matthews, Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp headlining the annual benefit concert for American farm workers.
SPAC now partners exclusively with Live Nation to bring non-classical acts to Broadview Stage, including Backstreet Boys, Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan, TLC, Guns N’ Roses and more.
