Raymond James Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is located in the Northeast MacFarlane neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. The facility sits at the end of an expansive sports and recreation area that also includes George Steinbrenner Field, where MLB’s New York Yankees play spring training games.
Raymond James Stadium opened in 1998. The facility underwent a major renovation in 2016, but has also benefited from incremental expansions and upgrades as the team’s stature has risen within the league. Still, the most cherished fixtures of the now 65,000-seat stadium (expandable to 75,000) remain, most notably the 103-foot pirate ship looming above the north end zone. It fires seven or three cannon blasts for every home team touchdown or field goal.
Raymond James Stadium has served as the host of the Super Bowl in 2001, 2009. 2021. The Buccaneers became the first team to play and win the championship game on their home turf in 2021. The football facility also houses the University of South Florida Bulls football team and presides over annual college football matchups like the ReliaQuest Bowl and Gasparilla Bowl.

Raymond James Stadium History
Raymond James Stadium is one of the most technologically advanced and fan-friendly stadiums in all of the NFL. In 2016, a massive renovation began in the venue, adding two 9,600 square-foot HD video boards, four 2,300 square-foot HD tower walls and a total of 31,000 square feet of video displays, making it the third largest video board system in the NFL. This renovation also expanded the Hyundai West Club by 25 percent, creating a 60,000 square-foot area, and added 400-plus speakers throughout the stadium, a 10,000 square-foot team store and a brand-new Tampa Bay Buccaneers locker room. The East Club now boasts a 64,000 square-foot area with a 10,000 square-foot bar, named Bar 76. Renovations to 134 luxury suites and the creation of the Hall of Fame Clubs were also added.
Along with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and University of South Florida football games, Raymond James stadium is also the home to the ReliaQuest Bowl, Monster Jam, the Gasparilla Bowl and the Sunset Music Festival. Throughout the years, Raymond James Stadium has hosted Super Bowl XXXV in 2001, Super Bowl XLIII in 2009 and Super Bowl LV in 2021, as well as the International Indian Film Academy Awards, and the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship game. Raymond James Stadium has also hosted world-renowned performers such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, U2, One Direction, Beyoncé and many more.

Raymond James Stadium has a no bag policy for all events. Guests are only permitted to bring in a small clutch purse that is no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″. Other prohibited items at Raymond James Stadium include, but are not limited to, camera bags, outside food or drinks, coolers, fanny packs, fireworks, glass, noisemakers, lasers, illegal drugs, weapons, recreational balls, seat cushions, umbrellas, strollers and video cameras.

Raymond James Stadium has a seating capacity of up to 75,000. Along with thousands of general seating options, Raymond James Stadium also offers a number of premium seating options. The newly renovated suites at the stadium offer 8-person, 16-person and 36-person suite options and feature an open floor plan, new HD-TVs, granite finishes and stunning woodwork. These luxury suites offer a concierge service, excellent views and premium catering options. Other premium seat options include the Mercedes-Benz Hall of Fame Club and AeroVanti Lounge, which all offer open-air indoor seating, all-inclusive food and beverages and access to the Premium Lounge Space. Seats at the 50 offers 50-yard line seats, access to the Premium Lounge Space and all-inclusive food and beverages. The Hyundai Club is a 60,000 square-foot air conditioned club space with padded seats and three premium bar areas. The Stadium Club is an air-conditioned luxury club that offers padded seats with access to Bar 76.
